Florida artists Deeno and John Fifth haven’t been on the site in quite some time. So it was a treat to receive their latest collaborative effort. It’s coined “Situations” and it is produced by Esco. It is centered around the theme of dealing with life’s various struggles which is something that everyone can relate to.

The production here is adequate. The lightweight foundation, old school Hip-Hop style background elements, middling tempo, and nonchalant vibe pair up suitably together. The hook is decent. The delivery is clean and the lyrics are straightforward. The verses are respectable. Both talents come with evident flows, appropriate wordplay, and adept rhymes. They each discuss their own personal battles in a conversational manner that makes for easy listening. A highlight from their sharing includes: “See I just really wanna go on that unlimited ride. Mom and Pops is getting old. Want them living it fly. I just want a couple hoes and a crib to reside. Sitting on some 24’s in my tinted up ride. You feel me? I’m asking God if I’m asking too much. Do I deserve it? Yet, the answers seem tough. But I don’t plan to be stuck.” Those are some honest and real bars right there. Overall, this is a smooth personal number.

**My Two Cents: I enjoyed this cut. The beat gives off a down to earth / zoning out kind of feel and the content hits home. Additionally, I appreciate the way that Deeno & John Fifth open up about their trials. They vent without coming off like they’re whining or complaining. The lyrics could’ve been a bit stronger as well as slightly more creative though. But all in all, it’s a dope tune. I think readers will dig it too. So go ahead and hit that play button. -MinM
