“40 On My Hip”

Big Curse of Nak Musick has been mentioned on the site a few times on the producer tip. However, he recently switched things up by taking on the role of emcee. He dropped visuals for a track he did called “40 On My Hip.” It’s a heavy hitting hood banger that has the streets talking. See what all the noise is about below.

This video is another classic from Sergio Soprano of EsGee Films. The visuals feature Curse giving an intense performance while taking over a few different locations. Some of the scenes are set right here in Milwaukee. But the most interesting scenes were shot at the Military Museum in Waukegan, IL. The different tanks and such make for really striking background pieces. In addition to the main scenes, Sergio dispersed real life war clips throughout the video. The clips show everything from large groups of soldiers marching to major explosions. They definitely give the video an added edge. Also, Curse’s partner in crime Double Oh makes a cameo appearance in the video. The piece closes out with some final military footage and some promotional images done in the same color as the clips. This was a very raw and entertaining project.

**My Two Cents: I’m really feeling both the track and the video. The track is crazy, Curse has bars and the production is wicked. The video was creative and a cool way to bring the track to life. It’s a serious song and wars/the military are no joke. So I like the direction that Sergio went in for the visuals. Readers definitely need to set aside 4 minutes and watch the video. Then head over to Sound Cloud and add the single to your playlist. Nak Musick has a nice little squad on their hands. Looking forward to hearing more from the Southside crew. -MinM
