“9 To 5 Remix” F/ Klassik (listen/download)

As a treat for her fans and to commemorate her birthday, songstress B~Free liberated the visuals to the Klassik assisted remix of her hit track, “9 To 5” last month. For those who haven’t heard the single, they can check it out via the link under the photo and/or peep the site’s previous review of the record here. To create the video B~Free & Klassik took off to the windy city and teamed up with her amazing film team, Jessica Estelle Huggins & Jovan Leslie Monique. See what happened when this foursome of extremely talented individuals came together below.

This flick takes place in a few select spots throughout Chicago including MoHall Lofts and UIC College Prep. The storyline of the piece is a direct reflection of the theme of the song. It features B~Free in a couple of different job scenarios where she is obviously unhappy. She takes on the role of: a personal assistant, a school teacher (she’s an actual music teacher in real life), and a cleaning lady. In a comedic twist on things, she goes through a melt down of sorts while carrying out her duties for each gig. In between the glances of B~Free working, are some extremely jovial solo shots of her rocking out to the music and palling around with Klassik. Klassik has a few working man looks sprinkled in the piece too. He looks rather sharp in his suit and tie. The video wraps up with B~Free pulling herself together in the main scenes and then playfully busting some moves with Klassik in the secondary ones. On a final note, budding actress Tiffany Renee Johnson makes a cameo in the visuals as B~Free’s boss. All in all, this was a delightful five star vision.

**My Two Cents: Out of all of the musical releases I had to look forward to this year, this was for sure one of the projects that I anticipated the most. And it was worth every bit of my excitement. It was a model video. The concept was fitting and entertainingly executed. It tied directly into the song and held the viewer’s attention from beginning to end. I loved the light-hearted element that was present as well. The scene with the kids comforting B~Free was super cute. Also, she and Klassik have a wonderful rapport. So they are a treat to watch. Bottom line: readers do not want to sleep on this one. So go ahead and click that play button! -MinM
